About
The Full Story
Botanic Possessions was an idea that evolved over time. I was looking for a way to occupy my mind during a difficult time in my life. During the Covid 19 pandemic my Mum was very poorly with COPD, a condition affecting her heart and lungs, and this meant that she was classed as vulnerable and needed to shield. During this time I was working a difficult job, and this made it hard for me to see Mum as often as I'd like.
So I quit my job and went part time, and as a way to cope with everything going on around me I got into gardening. I’d watch Monty every week waiting for the latest ‘jobs for the weekend’ and buying the next gardening book.
Eventually I found my thing - growing cut flowers. Over the next couple of years I took over my own garden growing flowers, so next I got myself an allotment. I would regularly take Mum my own grown flowers until one day she sadly passed away. I miss her like mad every day, but she has helped me to finally find what I want to be doing - growing cut flowers.
So now I grow flowers from my little corner of the world, on a mountain top in Blaenavon, South Wales. I love providing fresh, naturally grown flowers to people for every occasion in their lives.
If flowers can bring me so much joy during such a dark time, I'm convinced I need to spread the word about what growing and enjoying them can do for you.
